![]() ![]() All previous entries in the franchise, along with all the Dragon Age games, have seen considerable post-launch support in the form of large-scale DLC offerings and smaller bonus content. This is a huge departure from how BioWare has operated since the first Mass Effect game was released. Hopefully, this will lead to these other games becoming better products. It sounds like the company is cutting its losses with Andromeda and focusing its efforts on upcoming games. EA and BioWare’s decision not to continue with the game right now doesn’t mean Mass Effect as a franchise is totally dead. Unfortunately, this means that EA and BioWare have also put a stop to any potential sequels that were in the works as well. The sources do say a small team will remain in place to update the multiplayer side of things, as well as work on patches for the main game. They claim the reception of Andromeda has led BioWare to transfer employees away to different projects like Star Wars Battlefront 2, Anthem and the new Dragon Age game. This information also comes from anonymous sources talking to Kotaku. ![]() We previously learned from sources close to the game’s development, via Kotaku, that the development team at BioWare Montreal had been scaled back dramatically since launch, and now we’re learning there will be no single-player DLC made for the game. Mass Effect: Andromeda had a rough launch, with mediocre reviews, bugs and bad press aplenty.
